Summertime Nightingale

On a summer evening, under glistening ray,

A melody that set my senses a-bay.

Closing in on the shrill note,

What is it? was my only thought!

Betwixt a throng, in a world of swirling grey,

Where faces blurred enough in twilight's dimming ray,

A vision surfaced, a melody unknown,

A light that pierced the town's monotone.

Twin pods, shiny, starry, tender avid and deep,

Whispering secrets all over, yet yelling promises to keep.

A voice, verbal, vibrant that poets long to sing,

A lovely call, on this world's enchanted wing.

Diminishing night invited the midnight lush,

My heart raced, in a captive sudden crush.

my thoughts gushed, taking away the pain,

As if to capture sunlight after a refreshing rain.

Fashion followed the nature’s call,

My soul faltered overall.

Over God's brilliant design,

My petty soul intertwined.

Night felt sweet, beneath that oak tree,

The hours danced, on a song light and free,

A shared communion was spread all along,

My companion was found after quite a long.

The moon peeked altogether, with silver sickle keen,

Sliced through the night, a parting, bittersweet, and unseen,

My memory stays, old like a fire ever bright,

The day I met a nightingale, in fading moonlight.

Shining dawn burns like gentle flame,

And the nightingale flew, saying my humble name.

Forever etched, upon my tiny vigorous soul,

The day fate smiled, and made my heart whole.

I Thank God for the encounter fortunate,

Waiting patiently, for nightingales another gaze.

Hoping that, fate will smile one day,

Hearing melody that set my senses a-bay.
